Demonstrating just how good modern batteries are, the company Solar Insure has just introduced a 30-year warranty for home battery storage systems. Here are key details of the “SI-30 Battery Warranty” announced today by Solar Insure, as provided by the company:

To be honest, this doesn’t seem risky or shocking. These batteries should last that long (at least, above 50% of original capacity). The important thing is that this provides critical peace of mind to people concerned about buying a new technology (new for them, that is). As I just wrote yesterday regarding solar, many are just concerned about buying a new type of product from a company they know nothing about (and a rather expensive one at that). A long-term warranty can make all the difference. “More than just a warranty, SI-30 Battery represents a shift in how the industry approaches energy resilience,” says Dean Chiaravallotti, Chief Revenue Officer at Solar Insure. “By providing homeowners with assurance in their battery investment, we enable solar providers to build long-term trust and provide lasting value.” Indeed.

Of course, this is only for approved vendors, but the other news of the day from Solar Insure is that it has expanded its approved vendor list (AVL). The following are 6 new solar and storage equipment manufacturers that Solar Insure has put on its list: EG4 Electronics, Fortress Power, FoxESS, Lunar Energy, PointGuard, and QCells.

The company notes that energy storage adoption has increased an impressive 300% since 2020. This is the kind of thing that will help to keep that adoption rate growing fast.
